Shipping & Returns

The following rules govern the purchase of any product from the Minick Materials website(s) or an in-store location, including but not limited to minickmaterials.com and any of our other websites. By purchasing from the Minick Materials website or an in store location, you agree to abide by these rules and modifications thereto.

Shipping Eligibility

Minick Materials delivers orders of ½ ton or more. Same-day delivery is available when possible but is not guaranteed. If you require materials to be spread during dumping, please mention this at the time of order setup so we can assign the appropriate truck. Note that spreading may not be an option for same-day deliveries.

Shipping Vehicle Capacities

Small Dump Truck

• Capacity: 12 tons of rock/soil or 14 yards of compost/mulch.
• Clearance Required:
  • 9 ft wide, up to 13.5 ft high.
  • 20 ft height clearance to raise the truck bed for dumping.

Large Dump Truck

• Capacity: 20 tons of rock, 18–20 tons/yards of soil, or 20 yards of compost/mulch.
• Clearance Required:
  • 9 ft wide, up to 13.5 ft high.
  • 43 ft height clearance to raise the truck bed for dumping.
  • No sharp turns through neighborhoods or gates.

Flatbed Deliveries

• Clearance Required: 9 ft wide and 10 ft high.
• Special Considerations: Requires flat, stable ground. The truck uses a larger forklift than typical store models.

Shipping Guidelines

Our drivers determine the safest location for dumping materials to avoid property damage, such as creating ruts in yards, breaking sprinklers, or cracking concrete. Please ensure the dumping area is flat and stable, as angled or sloped driveways may cause issues. Minick Materials cannot dump materials on public property or private property without written permission, which includes streets and roads.

If you need materials spread while dumping, this service is available upon request during order setup. It is important to note that spreading requires specific trucks and may not be possible for same-day deliveries. For new construction sites or addresses without exact locations, we recommend providing GPS coordinates or sending a location “pin” to our Dispatch team along with your name and order number.

Specialty Shipping Services

For larger orders requiring semi-trucks, a custom quote is necessary, which takes 24–48 hours to process. These deliveries may involve end dumps or belly dumps, which are priced per ton based on the final load weight. Belly dumps are particularly useful for spreading full-size loads or when avoiding overhanging obstacles such as power lines or tree branches.

While we deliver pottery, we cannot place it. Pottery will remain on its pallet, strapped, wrapped, and banded.

For boulders, we provide placement services with up to 30 minutes of free placement time. Any additional placement time is charged at $2.10 per minute or $126 per hour. The forklift used for boulder placement has a maximum capacity of 3 tons.

Payment Requirements

Customers paying with a check will need to have their ID photographed by the driver. If you prefer not to have your ID photographed, you can bring it to our store to be scanned, email us a copy, or use an alternative payment method. For credit card payments made over the phone, we may request a photo of the card and/or ID to verify the cardholder's name.

Delivery Timing

Dump truck deliveries are scheduled within a 2–3-hour time frame per load. Deliveries over 35 miles may require additional time. Flatbed deliveries have wider time windows, either 8 am–2 pm or 10 am–5 pm. On delivery day, our drivers will attempt to contact you via call or text when they are en route, so please keep your phone accessible or provide an alternate contact if necessary.

Weather and Rescheduling

Deliveries may need to be rescheduled in certain weather conditions. For instance, when temperatures drop below 20°F, bulk materials can freeze in the truck bed, making delivery impossible. Similarly, wet conditions can cause materials to stick in the trucks and risk contamination of other orders. In these cases, we will contact you to reschedule the delivery.

Customer Responsibilities

To ensure a smooth delivery process, customers must follow the driver’s instructions regarding the delivery location and identification verification. If paying with a check or credit card, proper identification may be required. For new build sites, GPS coordinates or a location pin should be provided to ensure the driver can find the delivery location accurately.

Mileage and Shipping Charges

For deliveries that exceed 35 miles, an additional charge of $5.80 per mile is applied for the distance beyond the initial 35 miles. Delivery distances are calculated using Google Maps, and we always use the shortest route available to determine mileage.

Exchanges/Refunds

We do not offer any refunds. Unopened stocked merchandise can be exchanged within 10 days of the purchase date for another product or store credit. A 25% restocking fee applied to the store credit. 

Special Orders require a 50% deposit. These are nonrefundable. 

Changes to the Shipping & Returns Policy

Minick Materials reserves the right to modify these Shipping & Returns Policies at any time. If we make modifications to the Shipping & Returns Policy, we will post such changes here and/or on the Site. When such modifications occur they will be binding on you when placed online.

Effective date

The effective date of this Shipping & Returns Policy is January 2018.
