- AREA = Length x Width
- DEPTH IN FEET = Inches deep / 12 inches
- CUBIC FEET NEEDED = Area x Depth in feet
- CUBIC YARDS = Cubic feet / 27
- TONS NEEDED = (Weight per cubic ft. x Cubic ft. needed) / 2000
- AREA IN CIRCLE = (Radius squared) x 3.14
- CIRCUMFERENCE OF CIRCLE = Diameter x 3.14
- A ton of most products will cover 80 sq. ft., 3" deep.
- A yard covers 108 sq. ft., 3" deep.
- Figure compaction for areas over 6" deep. Compaction for sand and dirt
is about 15 to 20%. - On most products a ton is equal to 75% of a cubic yard.
