  • Full Time: 5 days a week. 8 hour shift (7-4, 8-5, flexible). Saturdays and Sundays off.
  • From $45,000 per year
  • Salaried position

Minick Materials’ Accounts Payable Specialist is responsible for managing the daily accounting needs for the company. This includes performing accounts payable processes, managing vendor accounts, and performing other accounting duties as needed. The person in this position should have a thorough understanding of financial accounting concepts, and excellent attention to detail. The applicant should display a positive and proactive attitude, strong organizational skills, the ability to prioritize and multitask, and be a strong communicator, both on paper and over the phone, as he or she will frequently deal with higher levels of management.

Accounts Payable Specialist

Job duties:

  • Process weekly accounts payable. This includes working with vendors, understanding inventory and meeting deadlines. Average weekly AP is $150,000 with 40 vendors.
  • Analyzing workflow processes
  • Ensuring bills are paid in a timely and accurate manner while adhering to departmental procedures
  • Issue checks, Online payments, and ACH payments to vendors.
  • Complete monthly bank reconciliation
  • Balance Cash and AP GLs
  • Review and complete quality control, plus import of all company credit card transactions into accounting system
  • Complete monthly sales tax review and balancing to accounting system
  • Processing transactions and performing accounting duties such as account maintenance, recording entries and reconciling books of accounts
  • Assist with billing in other departments
  • Assist in preparation of 1099’s
  • Maintain Fixed assets
  • Additional Accounting duties as needed

 

Requirements:

  • 2+ years of AP experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance or accounting preferred
  • Outstanding organizational and multitasking abilities
  • Active listener with excellent communication skills
  • Excel and accounting system experience
  • Excellent problem solving and analytical skills
  • High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
